We at hip hop hen recently put together a list of our top tips for encouraging pre-reading skills for Tracey Blake’s Small Talk Time blog on the Daily Mail online.
Tracey Blake (experienced journalist and mother of two) and Nicola Lathey (a speech and language therapist and mother to one) wrote Small Talk. Small Talk gives parents tips to help stimulate and encourage the natural stages of language development from birth.
What is prevalent from studies and something Tracey and Nicola talk about in this book is “that children with a positive communication environment at home achieve higher scores on tests of language, reading and maths when they enter school."
We found it very interesting and agree with the two authors - who rightly say that - a parent(s) are a child’s best teacher and the activities parent(s) do with children at home are just as important as what is done in the classroom.
In addition, hip hop hen firmly believes that - collaboration and honest communication between home and school will always be the best recipe for a successful learning journey.
Once a child learns to talk, the next stage is to learn how to read and that is where hip hop hen's: abc letter learning game apps come in as an educational tool to accelerate learning to read using systematic synthetic phonics.
