CVC words are C-onsonant V-owel C-onsonants - these are the first words a child learns to read such as C-A-T, H-E-N, P-I-G, D-O-G, B-U-G.
CVC words are easy for a child to decode and blend back together to read the word.
These dots help the child 'sound out' the word.
The child presses the 3 dots sequentially. Each time a dot is pressed the child will hear the letter sound. After the third dot is pressed a dash will appear. When the dash is pressed the child will hear the whole word.
In the READ section of phonics 1 (CVC) there is an option to read the words so that only dashes appear under the words.
There are 60 starts to collect on Phonics 1 (CVC).
